So, who are the players that you are targeting this week in FanDuel? You want to start all great players, but cannot because of the salary cap? This column is for you. Here we will list a few players at each position that we consider “Bargain Buys.” So, what defines a GM Fantasy Pros Bargain Buy? We consider a bargain buy a player that has a great opportunity to perform at a higher level than what their salary cap reflects. That being said, we won’t be covering the top players at each position. The players listed below should help fill in around some of the stars. Let’s get started on FanDuel Week 7 Bargain Buys.
- Colin Kaepernick (SF)- $7800
- Joe Flacco – (BAL) – $7700
- Carson Palmer – (ARI) – $7300
Against Denver, the 49ers are going to need to keep the pressure on. Kaepernick has been outperforming his salary recently in FanDuel including last week posting nearly 30 points in a primetime matchup. This again is a primetime game on Sunday night and Colin shouldn’t disappoint.
Flacco absolutely destroyed Tampa Bay last week with 5 early touchdowns. I’m not saying that he is going to replicate that performance, however Atlanta is allowing an average of 278 pass yards per game. This game should be a solid performance for Flacco against a subpar defense.
So, what did Carson Palmer do in his first game back from injury? Not much, just attempted 44 passes for over 250 yards and 2 touchdowns. Oakland is a middle of the road defense and I would expect that Palmer is well worth the cap at $7300.
- Ahmad Bradshaw (IND) – $6600
- Justin Forsett (BAL) – $6200
- Storm Johnson (JAX) – $5400
Bradshaw will be part of a game that could turn into a high scoring affair. Both the Colts and Bengals have high powered offenses capable of putting points on the board in bunches. At $6600, and with being Luck’s safety net out of the backfield, Bradshaw could be in line for some decent stats.
Justin Forsett is here for a similar reason as Flacco. The Falcons defense has been terrible on the season and in addition to the passing yards per game that they are allowing, they are also giving up over 140 yards per game on the ground. Forsett catches passes and he is the current choice out of the crowded Raven’s backfield.
Storm Johnson is an interesting choice here as he did not have a great yards per carry last week. The reality however is that the Jaguars had him on a carry count. He only received 10 carries and still managed to pop in a touchdown. This week they face the Browns who are giving up nearly 150 yards per game rushing. If Storm is going to make a fantasy impact and show why he should earn the job, we should see that performance this week.
- Sammy Watkins (BUF) – $6400
- Malcom Floyd (SD) – $5800
- Marques Colston (NO) – $5500
The Vikings are not giving up an abundance of passing yards per game, however Watkins is a bargain at this price and he is a playmaker. He gets an abundance of targets and should play a factor in a game that will be played on his home field.
Floyd is the deep threat in San Diego right now. He is pulling targets away from Allen and should continue to do so this week against the Chiefs. Eddie Royal left last week with an injury and Floyd will capitalize if Royal cannot go on Sunday.
Colston is on this list because Brees needs to throw to someone and there is no indication at this point that Jimmy Graham is going to be playing in this game. Although Colston’s cap is extremely appealing, there is some high risk with this pick as Detroit bolsters one of the best pass defenses in football to this point. We like Colston as someone to see a good share of targets, but a bit of caution is advised.
- Dwayne Allen (IND) – $5700
- Vernon Davis (SF) – $5700
- Larry Donnell (NYG) – $5500
We were off on Dwayne Allen last week, but we are going to try him again this week against the Bengals. Last week he had 3 catches for 49 yards. He did however have 7 targets and that was in a game where Hilton dominated. He should be well targeted again this week and the way Luck is playing, it is a good idea to have a piece of the Colts.
Vernon is at a great cap here at $5500 and this should be a fun matchup to watch in primetime against Denver. Last week both Crabtree and Lloyd scored. This offense has a lot of weapons and it will be nothing more than a matter of time before Vernon gets his due. Don’t miss out on it when it occurs.
Larry Donnell along with the rest of the Giants had a terrible game last week against the Eagles. This week could be a bit scary also with the way the Cowboys are playing and how they dominated Seattle. Having said that however we believe that Giants will make enough adjustments to make this a better offensive showing. If there is a Giant that we are willing to gamble on, it is Donnell as he is clearly the red zone target for Eli. With Cruz out, it only amplifies his worth.
