So, who are the players that you are targeting this week in FanDuel? You want to start all great players, but cannot because of the salary cap? This column is for you. Here we will list a few players at each position that we consider “Bargain Buys.” So, what defines a GM Fantasy Pros Bargain Buy? We consider a bargain buy a player that has a great opportunity to perform at a higher level than what their salary cap reflects. That being said, we won’t be covering the top players at each position. The players listed below should help fill in around some of the stars. Let’s get started on FanDuel Week 12 Bargain Buys!
- Josh McCown (TB)- $7500
- Colin Kaepernick (SF) – $7300
- Brian Hoyer – (CLE) – $7000
Both the Bears and Buccaneers defenses are terrible against the pass. The Bears are allowing over 250 yards per game through the air. This game has all the billings of your typical shootout. We are going to take McCown with rookie standout Evans in what should be one of the best QB bargain matchups of the week.
Kaepernick has a stellar matchup against the Redskins this week. The Redskins are in disarray right now as an organization and the way that RG3 is playing, they don’t have the fire power to keep up with the 49er’s offense. Kaepernick is a good buy at this price as he has one of the top QB matchups of the week.
Hoyer’s matchup is almost too go to be true. Atlanta is the worst team in the league against the pass, and they are allowing over 280 yards per game through the air on the season. This is not only a game that is one of the best QB matchups of the week, but it comes on the heels of the return of Josh Gordon. His presence alone will open things up for Hoyer and the rest of the offense. This is certainly a matchup to like.
- Steven Jackson (ATL) – $6400
- Ryan Mathews (SD) – $6400
- Terrance West (CLE) – $6100 / Isaiah Crowell (CLE) – $5500
Let’s cut to the chase here. Cleveland is ranked 30th in the league against the run. If that alone isn’t enough to convince you of the value here, keep in mind that Antoine Smith is now done for the season eliminating an additional person to feed the football to. Jackson should get plenty of opportunities to tote the rock, and he will need to in order to keep the Cleveland offense off of the field.
Ryan Mathews match-up is pretty good this week also as they play against the Rams who are allowing just over 110 yards per game on the ground. The reason that Mathews is here is because he under performed in his first game back last week and he is still listed at a low dollar value. He is an all-purpose back and should see plenty of opportunities to run and to catch the ball this week. He should be a solid play.
Atlanta is nearly as bad against the run as they are against the pass. They are giving up over 120 yards per game on the ground. Cleveland has not listed which of their backs will get the start this week, but once they do, that back should be a solid play. Both Crowell and West are a good value this week, however make sure that you find out which one will start before you set your final lineup.
- Kenny Britt (STL) – $6400
- Percy Harvin (NYJ) – $6400
- Kenny Stills (NO) – $5900
San Diego is surprising bad against opposing #1 WR’s. With Rivers banged up, they have kept their opponents in games and could do so again this week. Britt is starting to come on in the absence of Brian Quick. He is showcasing speed and an ability to be able to produce as an NFL #1 WR. This week should provide him with an opportunity to showcase his skills, and for this price, he could easily be someone that could outperform this value.
This game will now be played on Monday night, and will be played indoors. That will contribute to the speed and quickness of Percy Harvin. Buffalo has a good DST and they are very stout against the run. Vick however should be able to connect with Harvin and it wouldn’t surprise us to see him get behind the defense a couple of times.
Brandon Cooks is out for the season with a broken thumb. Baltimore’s attention will certainly be on stopping TE Jimmy Graham. This should really open things up for the speedy Stills. Kenny is a very deep value play and at $5900, he has an excellent opportunity to outperform that price.
- Delanie Walker (TEN) – $5500
- Coby Fleener (IND) – $5400
- Austin Seferian-Jenkins (TB) – $5100
Delanie is probable this week and should be good to go week 12. Philadelphia has been suspect against opposing tight ends on the season. Philadelphia is also giving up over 250 yards per game through the air making this matchup very appealing.
Fleener is a great play this week. Dwayne Allen and Ahmad Bradshaw both caught passes consistently from Andrew Luck. What does that mean? That means that those passes will have to go somewhere now that both of those players are out. Sure some will go to Hilton and Wayne, but Fleener will be the primary tight end this week, and the primary beneficiary.
Seferian-Jenkins benefits heavily from his matchup this week. He plays against a Bears DST that has been very suspect against the pass. We are already highlighting McCown this week and there should be plenty of passes and yards to go around.
